Introduced over 25 years ago, our geometrically proportioned wine racks have sold in the millions. They’ll fit into virtually any space – and are infinitely expandable. Precisely constructed of solid hardwood and put together like tinker toys, the pins seat so snugly into the octagonal beams that no glue is needed for assembly. Each bottle is securely cradled, even in earthquake country. Three finish options allow you to select a casual or more elegant look. Available in unfinished hardwood beams and pins; lacquered oak beams and pins; or Penguin - lacquered oak beams with black pins.

We purchased this wine rack to attach to an old one that my parents gave us. Putting it together was easy, and we were able to build it into an appropriate configuration to fit in our awkward wine cellar. Very sturdy.

This is a FABULOUS product. It was SO easy to put together, and so well engineered, and manufactured. AND it's made in AMERICA! It's beautifully designed, the parts are finished well, the whole experience was a pleasure. I got two racks, and they hold 80 bottles of wine beautifully. I wish I had more space and needed more racks, I'd order more immediately. I'm usually hopeless at putting things together, but this was easy!

After reading all the reviews for this product, I decided to order two 40-bottle units. The assembly was quite simple and, like the other reviewers stated, kind of fun. A rubber mallet is a must for ease of assembly. Although I originally feared the unit might be top-heavy and tip when filled, once assembled and filled it is quite stable. I am very happy with this purchase and must either buy another unit shortly or begin drinking more wine!

I ordered this and it came the next day. It took me about six leisurely hours to put it together (I'm older) but was a lot of fun. It can be made in any different configurations.
I got rid of all the cardboard wine boxes under the stairs. It's hidden because of space i my house but would look good if displayed.
I'm very happy with my purchase.

Easy to assemble, if you're not in a rush. A mallet is needed for correct assembley. It's kind of fun like the old tinker toys. I was able to get the dimentions that I needed to fit into a larger cabinet. Great product. I also stained and polyurathaned.

It was fun to build - a blast from my tinker toy past.
It fit in two tiers above my kitchen cupboards. So much nicer looking than fake green plants up there.
The shipment arrived very quickly; the packaging was excellent and the directions a breeze.
Highly recommend these for people who are looking for a flexible system of wine storage.

I've owned these wine racks for years and found them to be incredibly convenient fpr storing my wines in whatever space I had available at the time. The wine racks can be assembled in any pattern, width or height that you need. And you can add more racks when you need them.

I loved this wine rack! I bought the 40 bottle one and 2-12 bottle ones to use in a freezer that I converted into a wine cooler by using an separate thermostat to keep the temp at a constant 55 degrees.(one used to make a kegerator for beer.) [Never knew you could do it to make beer let alone to store wine!] I found an article about converting the freezer when I was searching for wine frigs on the internet!)

Anyway, I digress, the wine racks work great! I took out all of the wire shelves from the upright freezer and it now holds 60 bottles of wine! (I bought extra racks because I wasn't quite sure how many bottles would fit in there. I am glad it did!)

It was easy to assemble but it takes a little bit of thinking to figure which pegs to do first. Like someone else wrote, it's kind of like Adult Tinker Toys! I highly recommend them to anyone who needs an easy functional way to store wine. And you can put them together anyway you need them to fit. You can be creative with the space you use them in. And they are sturdy. I even took a hammer to mine to make sure all the pegs were tight enough! I bet it would be fun to paint/stain if you have a special decor idea!

I have 4 of these kits that I have used to construct the racking system in my wine closet. They are fairly easy to assemble and all of the parts are made to specification so everything fits together well.

Dom Perignon Doesn't Fit

After a tiring and protracted assembly process (more on that later) I felt a groundswell of excitement as I loaded on my most prized bottle - a 1998 vintage Dom Perignon.

Guess what?

The bottle is too fat. It doesn't fit.

I gulped as I grabbed the Perier Jouet. It made it, barely, by maybe an eighth of an inch. So did the various Pinots Noir and pretty much everything else until I hit my four bottles of Montebello Brut Metodo Classico. Once again, no go.

This shouldn't happen. A slightly more generous dimension on the connecting pegs and everything would fit. It's hard to understand that a product that's been around so long would suffer from this kind of a deficiency.

On the plus side, everything is well made, neatly packed, and the configurability of the system provides great flexibility.

But then again you have to put the thing together. I ordered three of these bad boys. Even with the application of optimized lean manufacturing methods, assembly was a several hour job requiring a rubber mallet (not included). My set up used 245 pegs. Since both ends of each peg need to be pounded in and an average of three mallet blows are needed to seat each end, this means that I swung the hammer no less than 1470 times in the course of the job.

This was fun to put together. One problem was I found it difficult to create the number of wine bottle holders that were specified in the instructions. I was able to create 32, rather than 40. Operator error, maybe. Doesn't matter because I am very happy with the results. P.S. Use glue for strength!
Nice product. Be expect to put in 2-3 hours of your time

I received this item promptly. This product is inexpensive, fully functional. Only complain is it took me 2-3 hours to assemble it. To a person that the time is more valuable, this could be a issue. Other than that, I am happy with this product.

I purchased this rack to fill a specific space in an under-counter cabinet in my kitchen. The great appeal is the ability to adapt the configuration to accommodate just about any space. Because the rack had to span a width greater than the width of the two doors and the doors were separated by a vertical divider, I had to assemble the rack in sections outside the cabinet, and then put it together inside. Quite a task for a 71-year old, relatively inflexible body. I strongly recommend reading the directions thoroughly, and carefully planning the steps beforehand if you are planning a project of this size. Particularly important is the advice to assemble smaller components first, and then connect them in the final installation. Also, when glueing, it is only necessary to glue the horizontal connectors. The vertical ones are held quite securely by gravity. When preparing to glue the horizontal pegs, the suggestion in the directions to put grooves in the ends of the pegs to allow the glue to rise when the pegs are pounded in is important. This is quite easily accomplished by grasping each peg end in the jaws of a pair of vise-grips, rotating the peg about 60 degrees and re-gripping it two or three times. A drop of glue about half the size of a small pencil eraser is plenty in the bottom of each hole. This may all sound tedious, but it results in a very sturdy rack.

While the capacity is advertised at 40 bottles, the illustration on the website will accommodate 42, 7 Horizontal X 6 Vertical, when the rack is oriented seven openings wide and five high. The sixth row goes on top. Of course, turning the rack 90 degrees results in 5HX8V=40. Truth in advertising! I am very pleased with the result, and would recommend it highly for those who can be patient in assembly. I remember building one impatiently over 20 years ago, quickly and without glue, only to find that over time the horizontal pegs worked loose. I had to take it apart and redo it with glue.

I used forty-t
